Meet Dr. David C. Obenchain
Dr. David Obenchain was born and raised in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He attended Idaho State University where he graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Zoology. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Upon graduation, he was elected to the national dental honorary society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon and in the same year earned the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Award for demonstrating exemplary aptitude and achievement in oral and maxillofacial surgery. After completion of a hospital-based general practice residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Dr. Obenchain completed four years of oral and maxillofacial surgery residency training at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Dr. Obenchain is ADSA board certified in general anesthesia and sedation.
Upon completion of his residency training, Dr. Obenchain joined Oral Surgery Associates in Council Bluffs, Iowa where he became full partner in one of the largest oral surgery group practices in the country. His hospital-based practice allowed him additional experience in providing a broad range of oral and maxillofacial surgery procedures over the 12 years he practiced there. In 2009, Dr Obenchain joined Peninsula Oral Surgery; later purchasing the practice in 2010. He opened Olympic Oral Surgery in 2015.
Dr. Obenchain has been acknowledged by individual patients to be very personable and down to earth.
